Flat towing is when your four wheels are towed behind your motorhome. With this, you have access to your daily vehicle.

The best thing about this vehicle is its easy towing process. You can easily set the whole thing up without breaking a sweat. It is just the perfect size, so you can easily pull it behind a Class A and Class C RV.

The good news is that there are no distance or speed restrictions to a wrangler while being towed. Any Wrangler model will always do the trick, so it does not matter which one you choose.

  • 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL
  • 2007-2018 JK Jeep Wrangler/Wrangler Unlimited

Ford F-150 (2009-2018)

For Ford vehicles, only 4WD F-150s can be flat towed. Models that came before 2012 must have a manual-shift transfer case. Otherwise, towing is not possible. With the F-150 model, there are no distance or speed restrictions.

Jeep Grand Cherokee (2011-2018)

Honda CR-V (2007-2014)

If you are planning to use this for RV flat towing, do remember that it has a speed limit of 65 mph. Moreover, if the car is being flat towed longer than eight hours, the vehicles should be taken out of tow mode for a while. It should be allowed to run for at least a few minutes, then brought back to tow mode.

Chevrolet Equinox/ GMC Terrain (2010-2017)

All-wheel drive and front-wheel-drive models can be flat towed. These SUVs, however, should be run for at least five minutes at the start of the day. This goes the same every time your SUV takes fuel breaks. Take note that you need to keep your speed at 65 mph when towing this vehicle.

Jeep Cherokee (2014-2019)

This is another Jeep model that is suited for RV flat towing. The Jeep Cherokee is extremely spacious that you can bring your whole family and gears inside without cramping. If you are a big fan of Jeep and are looking for an affordable tow vehicle, the Cherokee is a perfect option.

However, 4WD models consisting of 2-speed power transfer are the only models that can be flat towed. There is no need to worry as well since there are no distance nor speed restrictions. However, you will need to purchase a flat-tow wiring kit from your local Mopar Dealer. This has to be installed before you can tow 2014-2018 models. For 2019 models and onwards, you will not be required to do this.

Chevrolet Silverado/ GMC Sierra 2500/3500 (2015-2018)

To be able to tow this truck, the model needs to be 4WD at a neutral position on a 2-speed transfer case with a four-wheel-drive low setting. However, these do not have distance nor speed limitations.
